There is a 40' slip available at Spindrift. I requested an outside slip, facing the river. They say they have one and to come by and take a look. I emailed back letting them know that we will take it sight unseen. Hope to get up there in the next couple of weeks to move the boat.

3birds......when you decide to explore around the Bethel Island area, give a hollar!

When we first moved to the Delta we had a 24' sailboat in Andreas Cove. That was back when River Rat Pizza was still open and Spindrift was also still open. Basil owned the pizza parlor and the marina. That was around 1991. We are looking forward to spending time up there again. My wife will have a year with her company in April and will get a weeks vacation plus sick days. She is going to take the vacation a day at a time so we will spend 3 day weekends. Looking forward to meeting folks on this list.

3 Birds:

If memory serves me right(not a given), I thought you were going to take your boat to Bruno's and then Owl. Did you try either of those?

I'm in Owl Harbor right now. My brother in law has his boat in Delta Bay so that allows my wife to be closer to her sister if we move to Spindrift plus I get a covered berth. It's about twice as much for the covered berth but still cheaper than I was paying down here in OC.

The boat has a full canvas inclosure. It's a greenhouse once the weather warms up. It is a pain in the hiney to take on and off. I was planning on having a mooring cover made for it if the boat stayed at Owl. With the covered slip I can take it off and still have the overhead protection. The biggest trade off on the move is that Owl allows you to have a small boat in the water at no additional charge. I plan on getting a 17-19 foot runabout to use if we don't take the big boat out. I'll have to trailer in and out at Spindrift.

There are always trade offs...........When Delta Coves on Bethel Island is complete, they will have 350 slips in a brand new marina off of Sandmound Slu. It will be interesting to see how much they charge for rent.......San Joaquin Yacht Club might move to that marina and have 100 or so slips at its disposal........

After swapping emails with the harbormaster I finally called them. The slip is in Shed 2 spot 120. I'll send them a deposit and hopefully get up there before the end of the month to make the swap.
