my new (new used) 2006 ebbtide cabin cruiser has a squeek on the belts that coincides with the belt going around the pullys.

not a screeching noise like an old car off the line, but a squeek squeek as the belt goes around.

the higher the revs, the more timed the squeek. is there a grease that goes on the pullys that will stop it?

the boat has 24 hours on it but sat for a long time as the original owner never used it.

TIA.

if you not using a gator back belt, they squeak

or a tensioner is going

Any of these solutions could work:

1. Check belt for proper tension. Re-tension if loose.

2. Buy a $3.00 can of spray belt dressing at the auto parts store.

3. Replace the belt.

4. If the squeak comes from bearings inside a belt idler (tensioner) wheel, replace it.

5. Never put grease or oil on an engine belt or pulley wheel where it may come in contact with the belt.
