I have never heard of a non-race boat flipping over that DIDN't have a stepped hull.
I recently got a ride on a 26 - 27 foot boat with a stepped hull. I didn't get to drive it but it sure felt funny going around a turn. I have read explanations for why it felt like that, and Read articles about driving them. They all seemed to be saying that they are not for the casual boater.
Since virtually all performance boats, and not just "Go Fast" boats have stepped hulls. I am wondering how safe they are for the average weekend boater.
