Stony Point Bay Marina

Nor is it available as far as I can tell. Was there a 18' center console in that slip Rob? If so I'm pretty sure he plans on being back next season.

Then the office does not have a clue on who is where. They told me they were open. Now to think about it, the only slip we could fit into on D dock had a boat in it as well. Looks like my backyard is looking good or prey for a slip at the shore. Not going back to Haverstraw.

Ahh.. Now, I know where that slip is, yes it is taken.

Rob, you should really walk the docks on the weekend and talk to the people who have boats there, they usually know the deal.

Rommer, Starry Night and Winters Remedy are all on G dock and on these boards, just go down there and introduce yourself.
I am sure there will be some open slips next season.

Come to think of it, putting a 30' boat in G39 would be like putting Roseann Barr in a string bikini. Not going to happen!!!!

I wonder if we have the slip number right?

The only worse image would be Rosie in a string bikini

Rommer - You are right - its the slip with the CC in it - if you walked down your dock straight you would walk into this boat/slip. The boat would fit but be tight plus I dont think the finger goes out that far either. Maybe I should call Wayne tomorrow and see what is "really" available

Rob

IMHO a 30' would stick out too far into the fairway with that slip. That is the primary fairway to the service dock as well. I'm guessing there is a misunderstanding somewhere.

I would ask Dave to show you the slips that are available. What is your LOA and beam? I know the slip next to Winters Remedy has opened up. Last year a 27' Maxium was in that slip.

They told me that slip was taken. Ugh.

LOA 31 - 10'6 beam.

The only slip on D dock that did not have a boat in that was available according to the office had a piling in the middle of the opening (off centered compared to the berth opening). I would not be able to get the boat into that slip.

I will call Dave this week or go there this weekend.

So much for the slip next to Winters Remedy. LOA is fine but 2 10'+ beams just won't do it. There is an empty U on the main walkway of G dock but normally less than 28-30' boats are there. If it were me I would be nervous about sticking out so far past the finger end.

Doesn't look good for you on G dock for this year but keep trying. I've heard a rumor about a G dock person putting their boat up for sale and getting out of boating but only a rumor.

As for the piling issue on D dock, while I don't know the slip you are referring to, they can and will move pilings as long as the boat on the other side of the slip will still fit.

My wife and I brought our 30' Sea Ray Express Cruiser to SPBM up from the LI Sound a month ago. So far not only are the folks running the marina top notch, but we met the nicest group of people that also just came to SPBM from other areas (Kingston, NJ, etc.) We are having a ball at the dock, on the river, and up at the bar. The best move Jeane and I have made. Bob
(and I am a lifelong LI Sound guy).

I've Been on C dock for 7 years nothing bag to say in fact thing only seem to keep getting better. There will always be people whom you just can't please and if they choice to leave then I say good riddens and to those who choice to come and join the fun I say welcome. Hope to see you all next year. Have a happy & healthy off season.
I understand there are slips open on C dock some boats aren't coming back and I won't fit back in my old slip.

I'm actually going to talk with them today and see what's open.

I'm back...

I spoke with Mr. Conway and Ferrari (I am horrible with first names) and they were very accommodating. We walked the G-Dock where they recommended we go because it is more a family dock, just like many of you guys said. There were several slips he pointed out that would be a nice fit for us. Can anyone on G recommend a good slip that's open and also has some great neighbors?

Also, they had an ad on Craigslist for free winter storage for new customers. If I lock my slip with a deposit, they will keep my boat on the trailer for just the yard fee of $100. I will head back next week and put a deposit down on a slip, so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,
MJK

BTW - I heard I was missing the G-Dock party as we spoke. I almost gave him a check just so I could crash the party!

And a great party it was. Any slip on G dock is consider a good one.

Lets see if I can remember who was there by boat name that is a boatered RO.

Winters Remedy
Sweetness
Relentless
Starry Night
Victoria Marie
FourShaw

I'm sure I'm missing some... A little help please!

I'm sure you will be happy on G dock everyone I've met seems nice. I would move there too but there is not enough room.

I'm in!

We went down this afternoon and put down a deposit for next summer. I'll be bringing the boat back next month for winter storage there. I was expecting to actually lock in a slip but the manager said we can't do it today as he has boats moving in and out quuite a bit and wasn't sure where he would offer us a slip. He was quite confident he would get us on G-Dock.

I am only 25' so I would probably be on the first leg of the G-Dock.

MJK

BTW - Nice to meet you today Rommer!
