Well, the season is over and the boat was recently hauled. I was looking at the stripes and they are all kinda raggy looking..Cracking, gaps, yuck..

Ive tried calling searay, searay doesnt have anything, I called MarineMax, the guy pretty much laughed at me..I tried ebay, and came up short..

Any ideas where to get stripes??

The current color of the stripes are GREEN, but I wouldnt mind changing them to grey or black..

Has anyone ever had this boat and taken the stripes off and left them off? I wonder how that would look.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks!

BC........ When I re-striped my ( green ) 1990 310DA.....I used Panorama Signs in Copiague. Just measure the width and length of the strips and go see Jack or Barbra.....they will make them up for you. The color was a perfect match when I did mine.

Good Luck..........

Had an 83 Dancer, and that was a period when Sea Ray just loved brown stripes. That boat was just BUSY with stripes. I removed all of them and put one 1/2" wide dark green stripe just above the waterline. It followed the contour of the fiberglass edge. Looked a thousand times better.

Don, thanks for the heads up. Any idea what that cost you??

Boat....... I can't recall.......but it was at least 6 years ago.....so Im sure the price will be different today. They are good to deal with......a bit slow....but OK.

Are you doing ALL the strips.....or just the boot ?

Find out who does the lettering for the local fire / police / EMT vehicles. The fellow who does that here on Fort Lee, VA does boat names and stripes as part of his business. Maybe there is a similar business up there as well.

I was going to go back to the original colors but decided to get creative. I stripped all the top stripes from Saint Max and went with a monocoque look except for the name in 2008. In 2009 I had the remaining original boot striping taken off and went with a 3" tapering to a point gold leaf and black outline on the boot and gold leaf and black pinstripes topside to match the name. I know it sounds pimped, but it really is an eye catcher and very subtle in the way it is done.

I was planning on doing all the stripes. From the waterline up to the radar arch..

I think I am better off pulling the stripes off and leaving them off...

Boat, your last is my plan for my 340 dancer(87). Her stripes are original and look like crap. I think taking them all off and leaving themn off would be a tremendouus improvement. The only exception is the boot that will be painted on when the bottom is done next. Using dark red bottom paint and a black boot stripe.
