I've been looking at property and even thinking about taking my boat down to Ft. Lauderdale for the winter. A lot of people have told me I need to check out the Stuart area. How far offshore do you have to run to fish for sails in the winter and what's the inlet like? Where's a good location to keep a boat and what's the going rate? Thanks

Many marinas around Stuart. What kind of boat? St Lucie inlet has shoaled badly, I took a 63 Viking thru the inlet back in January and it was ok but the shoal has extended over winter. Most bigger boats avoid it now except locals.

Can't help with the fishing question but there are many boats around the area with those big sticks on the sides and smaller ones hanging off the back... So fishing must be good... Stream isn't far offshore

On a seasonal basis you re probably looking at around $15 to $20 a ft

That will be fine but get local knowledge before going thru. One side is shoaled real bad by the jetties
