I see Flutterby has had an emergency come up and won't be there. I seem to remember that FlyWright might be out with another group and was just going to stop by to visit. It will just be myself and my son on my boat as my wife has other plans.

Al, Dennis, are you still planning to come or should we postpone this to another weekend when more of us are available?

Yea, looks like this one will have to be rescheduled.
Dave are you still planning on being on the boat? Maybe we can meet and have a beer.
Now that we don't have the get together this weekend I am finding all kinds of things I should be doing at home.
But I really need to get out on the boat. Its been over a month since we've been on the water, and I have got to try out the new dingy and motor.

Dennis,

I'm trying to firm things up. I'll either be on the boat with Daniel or we may head up to Kirkwood and do some hiking. I'll let you know as soon as I can. Getting together for a beer and to see your new diunghy sounds great.

Dave,

I just called and left you a vm before I saw this thread.

With all the family obligations, I'm having a tough time committing to Friday at Decker Island. Getting away in time to make it there Friday afternoon, then back to Riverboat on Sat AM for the Mildred trip is the problem.

I'm going to be out on Mildred Island Sat and Sun. How about if we meet there. My group had a sailboat and a wakeboard boat (our numbers dwindled at the last minute, too) and it'd be great if we could all meet there. A lot closer, too.

Dennis and Mary, it'd be great if you two could make it, too. Lots of places to test that new dinghy in calm, wind-protected waters. CN might even be able to make it...not sure yet, though.

We're planning to anchor in the NW corner. We'll be there Sat mid-morning. Whattayasay??

Al,

That might work for me. Daniel and I are still planning on going out somewhere and Mildred is as good as any if the wind dies down.

Al, thanks for the invite. After the plans changed about Decker, we were thinking about taking the boat out and were probably going to end up at Mildred. Thats usally where we end up when we go out. So we are planning on being out there around 1:00 Sat. afternoon and leave out Sunday morning sometime.
If our plans dont change we will see you out there.

Great news, Dennis! We've got us a mini-anchor out!! See you guys there. We'll be on Ch 71! I PM'd you my cellphone number.

Absoloot confirmed by phone today that he's planning to be there. I'll be checking with CN tomorrow. See ya there!!

I have an idea for some dingy fun for Sat afternoon. It takes two in the dingy and one person has to be blindfolded (or blind), so we all can participate. It'll be a great way to try out that new dingy.

Daniel says that I have to wear the blindfold .... will that work?

ROTFLMAO!!! Daniel will have a definite advantage in this game. We might have to split up your ringer team to keep it fair for everyone. It'll be fun out there.

I think this might be similar to the blind bartender day Rusty Porthole has every summer......I hear it is great fun!

Got home late last night from a great weekend on the Delta with fellow boaters and friends. We tied up with Dvan and his wife Mary, Flywright and many friends of his. Weather was perfect and the company was great. The weekend was not without it's drama though ... my son and a friend went missing in the dinghy for a while, a wakeboarding boat suffered an engine failure and needed a tow back in.

All in all, I met some nice folks, had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

<sigh> and I stayed home, getting household chores done and helping friends.......

As Dave said, good weather, and wonderful people. We had a great time.
Sounds like the excitement started after we left.

I'm still on the water, but staying the night at Oxbow marina with my friends who have their sailboat, Ardea, for protection from the gusting wind conditions, so I have internet available to join in on the update.

I had a great time at the Sat-Sun rendezvous. It was great seeing Dave & Daniel and Dennis & Mary again. Friends of Daves came with their daughters and my friends came with two young women, so Daniel had four lovely ladies his age to share the time with. Lucky guy!! No wonder he disappeared for an hour on dad's dingy with one of the lovelies. The apple didn't fall too far from the tree!!

Friends of mine came with their 37 Tartan sailboat and others with their Malibu wakeboard boat. I believe all told, we had 17 folks and six boats out there on Sat.

To those who couldn't make it, you were missed. Mildred Island was a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Plenty of great water for the water skiers. Good anchorage with solid hook sets. Great place and great folks!

Here are a few pics of the Mildred stay, with a couple added from the following day with an amazingly beautiful delta sunset. Hope to see many more out there next time.

Al

PS. I just returned to the boat after meeting Chris and his wife, Yvonne, from the BE site with the 4800 Navigator out of Pier 39. As I'm walking by admiring his beautiful vessel, I said hi and he said he thought he knew me as a BE RO! What a small world! We had a great visit and I'm sure we'll be seeing more of each other tomorrow.

Isn't it amazing how BE brings folks together???? This site is an example of the very best the internet has to offer! I love it.

Thanks for the wonderful pics, Al.
