Hello, I'm having a survey done on a 1988 Sea Ray 340 Sundancer and would like a little advise on things to look at with the surveyor. Boat has a pair of Merc 454 7.4L FWC engines with vdrives - 625 hours.

Known issues on the boat are as follows;
1. Port Engine will not start unless the battery switch is parallel
2. Not a lot of cooling water flow from port exhaust
3. little oil drippage under the rear of both engines (can't tell if it's valve covers, oil pan, or rear main seal) Broker says it's probably the oil filters or blow-bye?.
4. 3 of the risers are really rusty around the gasket and bolt areas.
5. some water is rolling around between the sections in the bilge, but the listing said it has dripless shafts.

This boat is otherwise very clean and dry with no signs of abuse or water intrusion anywhere. Boat is located in the upper Chesapeake Bay. I plan on a survey and an engine survey. Are there any special tests I should order? The broker says that the seller is not aware of any issues with the boat, other #1&2 above and a work order has already been requested on that. Broker says the seller will make right anything the survey finds that renders the boat in other than good operating condition. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff
