Do supermarkets carry a brand of T P that can be used in my VacuFlush? Thank you.

On the Vacuflush system that I used to have where the tank was separate from the pump I used Quilted Northern two ply for six years with no problems. On my current boat which has a Vacuflush vacuum generator (pump mounted on tank) I use Thetford or Coleman from Walmart. The vacuum generator is not as strong as the set up where the tank and pump are separate. The Sealand TP from West is too thin, if you know what I mean, and is too expensive.

If all else fails but the cheapest and thinest that your grocery store has.

BTW, about a year ago I held the great TP disolve off in Baltimore on July 4th. All forum members were invited. Only one came. The winner in quick disolve was Quilted Northern Two Ply. Why two ply? I don't know. but it is quick to disappear.

Per Vacuflush manual. Put 1 square in water and it should dissolve in one minute or less.

Scotts works perfectly fine in a vacuflush system. Passes the dissolve test with flying colors.

Use the least expensive single-ply from the grocery store. I did a test years ago. I put one piece of supermarket single ply and one piece of Sealand in a bowl of water. The supermarket cheapie dissolved faster.

Definitely no need to buy "marine" stuff. We've been happy with the Scott "septic safe" stuff from Costco. We do have to remember to caution people not to use great wads of it. Error on the side of holding the lever down longer when flushing any and all solids especially. This gets plenty of fresh water through the system and helps keep those infamous duck bills clean. We've been living aboard full time for a year now with minimal issues, only requiring the finger around the seal (sometimes with a little silicon grease) routine every now and then when we goof up. Heck, I spent much more time working on the toilets on land then we do on the boat. I'd try the Northern two ply sometime, but we just laid in another 6 month supply of Scott!
