thanks
AL

Piermont makes Stony Point look like a deep water port!

Where do you keep your boat now?

Jonathan

enough said, low water is the last thing i want to deal with again.
thanks

Dosnt TZM have water. I know it gets low by the resturant but I thought the slips were ok. I know the channel going in can get hairy at low tide but didnt think it was as bad as Stony point.

Two phrases I never thought I would see in the same sentence, "Stony Point" and "Deep Water"

One of these days I have to dig out the pictures Tara took of SBPM when the Spring tide hit. 3/4's of the marina had NO water at all. Boats were sitting in the muck!

So, TZM, T&R and Coronetta's are not the place to be? The waterfront is real pretty.

For the life of me, I don't understand why these guys just don't dredge once and for all. We seem to be the only folks on the river and we're nothing special.

Some marinas just choose to suck what ever profit they can year after year. No concept of a capital improvements budget.

John,
four weeks ago, I was at the office, and I was heard this low rumble. Looked around, the other marina, at the end, had a Tug tied in the travel pit in foward gear running. No one was around. I guess as the tide went out, it dug a nice hole for the boats for the travel lift. As we all know Wayne Cortz, WAyne is Wayne, but he is still doing something.
I asked at my marina, why don't you run a Tug in the fairways? The answer was from Tony, "O no, we can't do that. Bill has to many people watching him in the town hall, waiting for him to slip up.
WAnt to Haverstraw las Sunday looking for you, wanted to say hi.

You mean like rebuilding a restaurant without a permit? I wonder how much of the silt simply moved down river to your marina? I've never met Wayne but have heard some interesting stories. Sounds like Price has lots of friends in townhall. Sure can understand that as he's such a nice guy!

Never made it to the marina this past weekend. Knocking some things off the honey-do list.

AL,

I've been in Cornetta's for over ten years. The water front is very nice and I just love Piermont (although I could do without a few of the Maseratis, etc).

Low tide can be challenging depending on your draft. I can draft as little as two feet and I can come and go at low tide with little difficulty. If you draft more, you would be out further anyway.

The trick, as with any other marina, is to learn the channels, etc. For me, I know that past the outer break wall is a trough that allows me to get on plane and zip out at any tide.
It's a challenge though that you may not want to deal with.

Ron (TZM) has a little more water and a gas dock as well. I've gone over at low tide and gotten gas so I know he has water.

For me, Piermont is 8 miles away so it's a no-brainer. If I lived close to Haverstraw, I'd probably choose that for convenience.

Before Stony Point, I was in Cornetta's for 10 years. 9 miles from my house. Water is getting less and less there. I also, know where the channel is, but it's low. A boat that draws 3 feet or more is going to have to watch the water. If you don't mind turning mud, it's a good place. Only thing, you either sit on your boat or walk through town. No grass, no BBQ, no trees, no pool in the marina. Once I has kids, there is nothing for them to do there, and if the tide is not right, you sit.
Nice people.
