So, we are supposed to be going for the sea trial and survey on the 391 next Thursday!

I am assuming that not much is gonna come up in a 1 year old boat, but who knows.

But, assuming all is well, we need to pay for and take ownership of "A Bigger Boat" pretty soon, 2 weeks max.

Problem is, that our marina won't be available to get into until 4/15. SO I need some place to keep the beast until then.

If I need a bottom job, I would prefer to come up to the Hudson and have it done here. That kinda solves my problem a bit, as I could go to a local yard, have them do the work, and stall for a bit. But I would still need 2 weeks of storage.

If I do not need a bottom job, I need temp storage for 4 weeks. Where is a cheap place to do in water storage?

Anthony, make some calls, Tarrytown Marina or Haverstraw may be able to put you up for a short while.

We still have quite a bit of ice up here.

Half Moon Bay in Croton also keeps their docks in year round. They accomodate the striper fishermen early in the season

Thanks guys. I can not wait for Thursday. I am like akid before Christmas (Chanukah, Kwanza or Ramadan)

Anthony,

Wish you all the luck with the survey. the 391 was a nice looking boat. Curious to see how it performs and looking forward to hearing what you think of it.

I'm sure you will be able to get a temp slip at Haverstraw Marina. Just watch out for the ice out there right now. I though more would have went out yesterday with the storm. Todays heat should help some. Haverstraw rents out to the early fishermen on the river so you should be able to get a slip for a month.

Butch we were wishing that more of the snow and ice up here would have dissappeared with this last storm also, but given what happened in 2005 a slow melt is a good thing!

Have to agree with you on that Dan. The storm raise alot of cane here for me at work. Kept me busy most of the day. Noticed the river was quite high today when I was at the boat. Another week or 2 and off comes the shrink wrap.

Thanks, I will either end up at Havestraw or Half Moon, probably, then on to my "real" slip at Cornetta's April 15 (1 day after my Birthday!). The "probably" part is because I may end up keeping the boat in MD for a few weeks (if I can slip her for free) and go down on weekends to putter around down there.
