I went for a boat ride yesterday, and some things were not as bad as I thought they would be and others were worse. Frank and Dicks has a lot of work to do but, the structure seemed okay. Cedar's top deck is lifted at points but, can be repaired pretty easy. Gilgo from the bay looked untouched but, on the ocean the sloping dunes are now a 10 to 12' bluff.
From Lindenhurst to Babylon the damage on the bay is significant. There were a lot of boarded up houses. Dock and property damage was unreal one house seemed okay and the house next to it was trashed, almost like a tornado.
Pictures don't do the damage justice. People will have to think long and hard about rebuilding at low elevations.

Took a ride today by car. Tried to get to Robert moses but closed. Cedar was closed.
Went to oak beach. Lots of damage. Houses look ok but then you see whole lower level of homes are shot.
Lot of garbage pushed up in places.
Captree docks a mess as is ramp.

Brought the Mako over to Babylon for winterizing and stopped by Bergen. They will have the docks finished by spring. As I was leaving, I could not believe the condition of the houses and property on the east side. Really a shame how much damage this storm did to the shoreline.
