I just got my new book from Amazon.com on the porch last night. It is "The California Delta" by Carol Jensen, Hal Schell Archives and the East Contra Costa Historical Society.

According to the Prologue this is Hal Schell's last book that he began in 2003 but didn't finish. It has lots of great pictures, well worth the $16 plus shipping, I recommend it.

Amazon also delivered the 1/2" red heat shrink tubing so I can cover up that black I had to use on the posative feeder for my electric trolling motor.

Yes, it is a good book, but I didn't think it was up to Hal Schell's standard. Even so, I'm glad his last project got completed and marketed.

Definately agree with Flutter...

But since it contained - and was part of Hal's effort - ofcourse it's in my collection.

Worth owning for sure.

I just finally found a copy of Dawdling on the Delta - been looking for years. It is like new, and such a good book. FYI, I bought it at a little shop to the left of Al the Wops - and she had another copy there a few weeks back if anyone is looking.

I actually got my copy of Dawdling from Hal himself. I couldn't find it anywhere, emailed him, and he had a copy left he was willing to sell. Met him in the parking lot of a Lyons Restaurant, talked for awhile and left with my book.

I wish somebody would publish a collection of Hal's columns from Bay and Delta Yachtsman. I think that would make for an interesting book.

You have a greaat idea there, Eric! Why not email B&D Yachtsman's co-publisher, Ty Mellott, with your suggestion? Opppps tymellott at YachtsmanMagazine dot com
