The count down begins

Dave, no offense, but I think you're taking this a little too personally. What I was trying to convey (and rommer was merely affirming that notion, nothing more in my opinion) was that when you have no control or input over a situation (which may be priority for you), that is under someone else's control or management, it does not necessarily become a priority for them, it's just another job or routine task among many. We've all heard excuses like, "Your car won't be ready for pick-up this afternoon, we had a few emergency repairs to work on." Or, "Your canvas won't be done on this date as promised because of the bad weather we've been having I got pushed back a week."
So again, nothing personal, maybe just buffering the optimism with the reality.

Heck, the only thing on a boat that ever came early ...ahhhh wait a minute ...I mean the only thing for a boat project to arrive on time came from Boat fix. Other than that you have to plan on it being delayed.

Lets all be happy, it wont be long and we all will be in the water rafted up in Bowline haven a dozen cold ones...

Yeah really. We gave up on the Exumas this year because our dripless shafts were dripping (sounds like part of the twelve days of xmas but it was the kiss o' death)... That and our water maker died yet again...

It (aw sheet) happens and timing is everything. Sometimes a remark falls on us harshly because we're in deep and out of patience. Hang in there everyone!

Look at it this way, we have a ton of work to do and then we lay up for the Summer!

Dave, I agree, rommer was just affirming one of the many issues with boating (or any other major project), deadlines are often "best wishes". I just ordered canvas and carpeting, my quote was 2-3 weeks which I interpreted as "I'll call you after 3 and start breaking chops, if I do a good enough job, we can have this done in 6".

Proof is in the poison. On April 9th, you said "I just spoke to the man about my platform he is running a few days behind." It's been 16 days since April 09. Obviously Rommer was dead on with the bad news. Don't take it personally, we all share in the frustration and wish you the best of luck!

Last season I was told my shafts would take 1 to 2 weeks to get done, well they took 5 weeks, I try not to count on the times people tell you in the marine business. Everyone who knows me knew I was not happy but what are you going to do but deal. I think peole are trying to prepare you just in case it takes longer which is not unlikely when it comes to boating.

Our Hurricane Ike damage was to take 2 months, but took 3.
The good part about it was it was all in the winter time.
We just couldn't partake in any frostbite raft up's.

Not to drag this out but Rommer knows why I commented like I did. As for the platform it's on a truck and it will get here when it gets here, it is was completed 24 hours later then I expected do to last minute changes and I have no issues with that. Trucking is beyond anyone's control and has nothing to do with Murphy's Law. As for the install that may very well be my stumbling block but I will deal with it. I don't need others to tell me that things can and will go wrong, I understand that. I would have hoped for a more optimistic response but such is live.

Not really but to let this die I'll say I do. Must be my fault, oh well...

Don't worry be happy.

Thanks for not disappointing me with your response almost word for word what I expected you to say. Consider it forgotten but remember that you are not the only one who takes offense to others comments.
