The worst is almost over with the daylight. In a couple of weekd the days will start to get longer again.
What I really hate is the bitter cold. January and February are the worst.
The cold doesn't seem as bad today, I finally got my storm damaged furnace replaced! I can stay in the house and watch TV without wearing 2 layers of sweatshirts!
I'm thinking like JVM, we're almost to the point that the days are getting longer!
Fourteen days, until the winter Soltice, and then the days start to get longer. (If we are still around after December 21st., That is the end of the world!)
After Dec 11 the sun starts to set later (4:28 on 12/10 and 4:29 on 12/11 then a minute later every few days). We continue lose ground in the morning as the sun rises later each day until 1/8 when sunrise is 7:20. After that the sun starts to rise earlier each day.
Although I know that days start to get longer on 12/21 I focus on the sunset time since that is what makes the day seem to get longer to me starting on 12/11.
Go south for the winter, about an hour longer in daylight. It will be a lot warmer also. Much less grey gloomy overcast days. The grey days are what drive me nuts, I can handle the cold.
I hate cold.
I hate winter.
I hate gray days.
I hate the mad shopping rush.
I do like waking up on weekends with no plans, no boat, just relax.
Winter is a great time to relax and refect on th summer fun.
If we didn't have a winter pause, we would not reflect and appreciate.
Also a good time to plan what you will do next summer!

+1......we also love the longer warmer days....Just very weird to go shopping wearing shorts and a T shirt ....with the top down....and the stores all have Christmas decorations and playin Christmas music..
Days are getting longer, February is more than halfway over, and the countdown begins until I take the shrinkwrap off of the boat.
I hate winter in general, so I always try to look at the positives.
