We've stopped going to NNH for a couple of years because it has become way too crowded, too loud, too obnoxious, etc...

yesterday, there was a nice 12kts breeze and also it was coming from the east which meant long tacks to cross the bay, it was worth it!

after launching Sabrosa we tacked along the shoreline towards the Rickenbacker Cwy, then a few tacks across and down to the sandbar at the top of KB for a quick swim. another couple of tacks between KB and Stilsville and we got to NNH. There was only one boat which left after a while... first time i see NNH totally empty!

dropped a stern anchor and tied Sabrosa to the bulkhead while having appetizers, desert and great cuban coffee at Boater's Grill.

the run back home was downhill all the way...

Wow. We always end up just anchoring outside and taking the Whaler in. Love the Boater's Grill, I think one of the best Cuban/Caribbean restaurants. Cold Presidentes and the whole fish...mmmm. Lucky You!

That's the sort of boating I'm looking forward to here in MD for the next few months. Come Labor Day, 90% of the "boaters" in MD call it a season and the rest of us can finally enjoy ourselves.

Nice, looks like they had an evacuation of the place. I used to love the solitude of October boating on L.I.-same scene with 1 or no boats around, unique in NY.

Ahhhhhhhhh - very nice Pascal. Great to see you getting so much use out of that pretty little boat!

we are! we usually launch and keep her in the water for 4 to 5 days at a time, during which we sail everyday for a few hours. fri and sat we were out till 10 or 11pm, between the almost full moon, the reflected light from the city and some of the flood lights at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club illuminating the mooring field by the marina, night sailing is great!

we spent an hour tacking and jibbing around the mooring field listen to a live rock band playing at the club... it was great.
