I just splashed in this afternoon after replacing 5 of my thru hulls and a fresh bottom coat of paint.
Since this was my first job of replacing thru hulls I was really hoping all of them would be nice and dry. Well almost, have one small one for my head intake that is leaking ever so slightly, It is not the thru hull that is leaking , it is the ball valve where it connects to the thru hull pipe thread. It is in an area that is a liitle tight for me and will be hard to get a wrench on the thru hull pipe part to see if I can get another turn on the ball valve.
I was thinking since it is such a small leak that maybe I could just surround the fitting with some sort of plumers putty or sealant such as 3m 4000 or likewise. Anyone else have any ideas? I really do not want to try and wrench this, I am afraid I will break the seal on the thru hull itself.
Thanks for any suggestions.
