I'm going the marina in a few I want to check things out I'm afraid the cover may not hold up to this last round of snow.
Starry, Hogan and Victoria I will look for you as well if I see anything I let you know.
Looking to the branches in my yard is making me a bit nervous.

I went yesterday and was very surprised to see how LITTLE snow they got by the river. I'd have to say 5-6 at best. But yet up the hill it was significantly more. The river water must really moderate the temperature.

Don't sweat it Dave, your cover will be fine.

Going up today to pull the starboard aftercooler.

I didn't see a single boat with any snow on their covers I was surprised to say the least.
And Hogan I agree with Rob pull you cover already would you, I have a template to make.

whats the cost of wrapping your-alls boats ? And I'll have all my honey-dos done by next Sunday then I'm FREE !!!!

Aftercooler is out and home. The core on this one does not want to come out, more liquid wrench and smashing with the BFH.

Cover will be off soon.

I just went down to the garage and beat the hell out of it, slowly but surely, it emerged - and is now OUT!!!

Sprayed it down with brake cleaner, then rinsed it with Simple Green. I'll do that a couple more times, then re-install them next weekend.

I don't want to think about what ours look like. Did you get a photo of one before and after?

No, I thought about photos after I cleaned them. They actually were not too bad, the worst part was getting them out. I will make sure to grease the hell out of them before I replace them.

Found parts of impellers in the bottoms of both, the zincs in the bottom half were completely gone, and there was quite a bit of calcium built up.

My boat had a $hitload of snow on it and the shrinkwrap started to sag from the weight. I cleaned it off and it bounced back. A couple of boats just left there canvas up and let's just say they'll be buying some new frames and canvas this year.

Shrink wrap is cheap insurance. But you never know someone's circumstances. I've seen a mess of boats get beat up by weather because people cannot afford to keep them anymore. It's a shame all around.

While we are talking about covers/shrinkwrap, this year we decided to upgrade our cover frame from a very good homemade PVC based system to a Kover Klamp based system. I had a feeling that this year was going to be extra snowy, (I should have played the lottery!).

Anyway the Kover Klamp based frame is 1000% better than a PVC or wood based frame. Allows you to build what I'll call slide pockets so that snow and melt slides right off without pocketing just above the bow rails. Recommend it highly for those with canvas or tarp based covers.

If the peaks are high enough on a shrink cover you don't have to worry about pockets. If they formed on your boat it seems the contractor is not doing a good enough job. There should also be a number of lines from the peaks down to the rails to support the wrapper.

John I know. I'm merely pointing out a reason why shrink wrap might fail from heavy snow. We've wrapped Freedom 10 times and with high peaks it has survived some very heavy snows and ice storms.

Stopped at boat last night to check on her. Was very surprised to find no snow at the marina. Heck, I might even start working on her this weekend...
Afterall the count is 29 days....
