Dear Sir,

I'd like to thank you and your guests for stopping by our marina on Sunday evening. It was very nice of you to drop in and share your large vocabulary of expletives with everyone. I am sure the children swimming in the water heard words that will help them later on when they take their SAT exams. That is if they recover from almost being run over by your props as you shared your deepest feelings for me. You were absolutely right when I warned you about the swimmers and you replied “That's their f***ing problem!"

I am a bit confused as to why you decided to be so open and honest with me, but I am glad that you felt so comfortable talking to me that you could. I am sorry that the reserved slip that you tried to pull into belongs to a close friend of mine that was out boating for the day. It really was inconsiderate of him to mark his slip as reserved. I am sure you don't mind returning to your marina in the evening to find a boat in your slip, after all, sharing is caring.

It was also very gracious of you to offer to physically harm me, after I asked you very politely to tie up where the other guests at the marina dock their boats. The other people at the dock that day suggested that you might need the special assistance of the Orange County Sheriff, or the Newburgh Police, but I thought you would be just fine after all the careful and thoughtful consideration you put into docking. Still it never hurts to have an extra set of hands, so the next time I see you trying to dock, I'll be sure to call some people to help you.

I hope you had a wonderful evening, and that you return to visit us soon, but if you can't, that's alright too.

Nice post Erik, but probably a waste of effort posting it here.

The "Captain" that you described most likely has very little interest in boater education. . . . but you never know.

Unfortunately, my new friend did not have a name on his hull. But it was an older Chris-Craft cuddy cabin, tan-colored hull, about 22' to 26' long.

There certainly are some real A-holes out there!

Some one presented me with a petition to reduce law enforcement activity on the river this past weekend. I say we need MORE enforcement to go after idiots like those mentioned above.

I see no need for the random safety checks and if the LEO would just hang out at most docks, anchorages, or marina entrances they would be writing enough tickets to justify their existence when people ignore no wake zones and operate recklessly. Seriously which is more important, going after someone with an expired flare or the idiot PWC operator leaving/entering a marina entrance at full bore?

Hey, I know that idot leaving the marina on a jet ski at full bore.

You guys know the PWC operator that races in and out of my marina that parks next to my boat on the PWC slips?

John we had a PWC operator this weekend that was breaking all the rules in our marina, that we all know. :)

Well lest anyone think I was talking about him/her, I was not.

The guy I was talking about nailed the throttle at the back of my boat in such a way that if anyone was coming in the marina there would have been a major collision. Would have probably killed himself, his passenger and whom ever was on the boat he could have hit.

Its amazing that the police dock the boats in your marina, do they ever see this stuff?

Notify management and call the Sheriff.
