Here is the latest graph of the Rondout -> http://newweb.erh.noaa.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=aly&gage=rosn6&view=1,1,1,1,1,1
As far as the canal system goes we have a few boats tied up because of the delays and I would expect this to continue for a few days. Things are bad upstate. The thruway is closed from schenectady to syracuse, and so is 17 west of liberty. Here's a link on the canal system -> http://www.canals.state.ny.us/news/notices/index.html
Expect abnormally high amounts of flotsam in the river north of Newburg. We've seen alot of it go by! While I did not see much in the hudson when we went over the bridge this morning I know it's there, and some if it is big and ugly.
Traveling is still worth while, Kgn did not get washed out like the spring of 2005. I know there were some nervous people last night. We got a call regarding the Rondout reservoir's dam being in trouble. When I spoke with the folks at emergency control they were upset because the rumor had been circulating quite a while. They were wondering where it all started. I'd bet it came from Mass. where they had dam trouble the last time it rained.
Anyway, the weather looks pretty good for the weekend!
