I'm trying to transfer fuel from one tank to the other, the transfer pump is running but I can't see any change on the fuel gauges. Does it take forever or am I missing something?

I'm sure Hogan or Dave will be able to better answer your questions since they have similar boats, however is there some sort of valve that needs to be opened on either side of the pump (or possibly both) that you're missing?

First off are both valves open? should be two one on each side of the pump If so you may have a bad pump mine does the same thing turns but doesn't pump one of these days I will take it apart I assume there is some sort of impeller inside that needs to be replaced. Great concept if only it worked!

Try it I wonder if it works. I have never really needed it but I have tried it unsuccessfully.

The fuel transfer pump on my Carver works well. You might want to loosen one of the hoses from the pump and while someone else turns on the pump, observe the pump and see if any fuel is seeping out. That should tell you if it's working. If it's working and you leave it on long enough the fuel gauge will indicate a decrease or increase.
Good luck.

Thanks for the good input, glad to see you are cheking the site even if some of you have your boats on the hard. I have not seen any valves, not good, if I have to take the pump out I will add 2 valves. The pump makes noise but it may not pump so I will loosen a hose and try it.
I have a diesel heater that has sucked a lot of fuel from one tank this winter. Also my boat has a slight list (can't figure out why) so it would be nice to trim it with some fuel transfer.

Interesting I guess the pump could be working but so slow I didn't think that it as, I will have to leave it on longer I just read somewhere that the pump only moves about 6 gallons a minute so it may take a while to see it on the gauge. Who knows maybe it is working:)
