Trojan 440 Upgrades, Fixes and Ideas

Yeah, I pulled out about 1p. Needed to pump out before my scheduled 2pm haul out. When you go look at the boat, notice the tire tracks from the travel lift. The front drive tire was getting stuck in the sand from the weight. It dug itself down about 6".

Thanks sorry taking care of the dish for me too. I just do not have time to deal with that. As it is it feels like Monday morning is rolling in to fast.

They are going to shrink wrap the cockpit and store the canvas towards the end of January. Also plug it in every couple weeks for the weekend to maintain a charge on the batteries. It sucks that I can't pull up a web cam anytime now to look at it. :(

Hey John when you bought your boat it didn't come with a trailer and a truck to pull it. Built this one for ours and now it looks like I might start hauling boats for others. I found out the hard way because we move our other boat 2 or 3 times a year and that can get spendy quick. Here are a couple pic's of the trailer.

Very nice Todd. If i had the option i would have had a pool out couch in the saloon sofa.

How big is the trailer?

Staying with the original layout sort of, the stairs will be made of wood with the drawers, wife wanted a oven so we will be putting a wall mount in and doing away with the TV area and looking at a drop down flat screen. Also adding arm rests to both ends of the couch.

How big is the trailer?

Trailer has 17,500 per set of independent air ride axles giving a 52,500 capacity.

It's great following your progress, Todd. Keep the pix coming!

The boats looks great and the trailer looks amazing. I never saw such a design for a big boat trailer.
Is it designed for a forward or backwards load?
my boat was loaded with the stern towards the tractor.

Allen it is just like loading a 16 foot fishing boat that you pull behind your pick-up. You just back in the water, power the boat up to the proper position. Pull a head and lift the your support arms and strap it down. Un loading just back in the water and float it off.

It's a two wheel drive but a do have a custom exhaust and a power chip. Haha

I would love to see it on video!

Trailer is fantastic!(the boat too) I can see how you plan on getting up here to San Juan waters. The banana belt, just got back from 3 months on the boat up there, nice. Do you need a pilot care with that rig?

Defiantly need pilot cars, we plan on just dropping the boat in the water in Olympia and will motor it up from there.

I almost forgot about this please post pictures. You make any of my upgrades look like child play!

This said I plan to install my new underwater lights and hopefully new flooring in the galley when it warms up a bit.

Man I though everyone sold their boat or you started a new forum and told everyone not to give that oregonparts guy the heads up. No moving forward and should be done the end of March. Everything is basically stock except for some small changes.

Took out stairs and put in cabinet style steps.

Installing a 40 flat screen that slides out from on top of the fridge.

Put in that new Nova Kool 9000 fridge.

Doing a double sink.

There might be a couple of other things that I am not thinking about. Just ordered all my electronics.

All engines started and ran just fine except for my port engine. Turns over fine but will not fire. After looking into it the fuel pump is not getting power and it is looking like I might have a ECM problem. Will have cummins come out next week and put their computer on it and let me know. I still am happy because it is a fix that won't have me pulling an engine. All coxpit seating is done and will go back in next week.

Also met Odvar and his son at the Seattle boat show and had a good vist and both seem to be very good people and look forward to meeting up with them in the San Juans.

Todd
