Hi guys,

Well my boat is still sitting in Kingston and once in awhile leaves the dock for a pump out, but I thought I'd log on here and give an update on the 2014 Tugboat Roundup in Waterford (www.tugboatroundup.com ) . The event is going to be even bigger than before, with a small boat show included above Lock 2 for the first time, plus the Lois McClure, the solar barge scalable prototype Sol, the new Canal System electric tugboat, and possible the VT Sail Freight Project sailing vessel Ceres, to go along with the fleet of large and small tugboats. Its a lot of fun and one of the things I enjoy most about living up here these days, especially since my own boat seems to be perpetually on the fritz....

If anyone wants to come up for the event let me know - dockage at the Waterford Harbor Visitors Center is a challenge because of the festivities, but there may be some dockage above Lock E-3 in the Waterford Flight (fun because its the only time you are allowed to stay IN the flight without going straight through) or up at Lock One Marina and Shipyard on the Champlain Canal. Since I dont get on here too often these days (my bad - I really should post more and say hello!) feel free to shoot me an email at pete at southernsaratoga.org or a text on my cell at 518-522-7251. Hope this has been a decent season in the Hudson Valley - the Rondout seems rather quiet this past week but at least there is some activity. Enjoy the Labor Day weekend!
