Unable to Register!

A friend just tried registering for the first time and here is his email to me: "tried to register. would not let me register with gmail.com or yahoo.com email address. weird."

I know I saw a thread on this topic, but what is the issue again? Why are we making it difficult to bring on new boatered members?

Because most of the registrations using "Free" email turned out to be fraudulent and the source of much spam and increased the workload of the site operator. Have him register with a work email then change it after the registration is complete.
