Just heard that this quaint restaurant, marina and RV park has gone into foreclosure. This is not good for Bethel Island. Craig and Melinda Lundborg have worked diligently to remove the druggie element and make this a nice family resort. I sure hope it doesn't revert back to druggie haven again!!!!

I guess the Delta Coves not selling and the recession hit them too hard. I wish them all the best.

Sorry with you, Flutter. Sad to see nice people places and things move away from us...

That's too bad, I never made it to the Landing for breakfast but locals told me I should go there. The Landing web site is on my favorites I like the way the hook swings on the lure on their home page. I was going to tent camp there sometime but didn't get that done either.

j-d, thanks for commensurating with me! They are good people who really tried hard to make things work. Bad timing for them.

DD, I tried to add a link to their website in my OP, but it is gone........

Bethel Island has done much to dispel it's riff raff reputation over the years, but failure of the Delta Coves project and now this are not helping matters any.

Lundborg's made a great effort to clean up the marina's image and may have succeeded had it not been for the economic downturn. Bethel Island needs more businesses like Lundborg's to succeed, but the timing couldn't be worse.

Unfortunately the drug trade seems to be resistant to economic cycles. In fact, drug and alcohol abuse is more likely to flourish during hard times.

What a shame. I have spent more then a few weekends camping and boating there. Really a nice place to meet some friends for lunch or dinner.

I too will miss the great breakfasts I've had there. Their omelettes were great 'cause I could pick whatever I wanted as the ingredients! It was a dog friendly place, too and my little Maltese just loved to go there!!!!!

I wish Craig and Melinda all the best.

I spoke with Craig Lundborg last Sunday. He told me that the property is in escrow.

As he understands it, a guy from southern California is buying it. He apparently is a big player in the professional bass tournament industry and will make this a focal point of the property. That will probably draw away from Russo's to some degree.

stay tuned...........
