I need to know on a stock 3880 with a standard arch, what is the height from the tip of the arch light to the next highest point.
I think that is the top of the windshield.

Regal says it is 18' 5" from Keel to light, but then the shippers remove the arch and I need to get to the loaded height.

Thanks in advance!!!

Sorry Dave, got your messages after getting home from of all places, the BOAT! Won't be back there till Friday.

If you stand on your sunpad, are you taller than the light?

No, I'm not. Light is taller. Not by much, guessing perhaps 6"

Ok, so that means 18' 5" - 5' 6" = 12' 11" but then add back the distance to that metal grab rail around sunpad, which is about 5" so that is like 13' 4".
Either way it will be under 14'?

The issue is this, if the boat is over 14' tall you need 2 escorts and its an extra $1200.
Over 12' beam is 1 escort.
Over 14' height is 1 escort.
So it already has 1, and may need 2, but I don't think so.

I am gonna say it is 13' 6" about.

Thanks!

CurrentSea,
I take it that you bought a 3880? Thats awesome, where did you get it from? How about some pic's. How far does it need to get hauled?

No final deal yet.
Details and pics will come when I close.
Just trying to put together all the details on haul, survey, etc.

I will be at my boat tonight and will take the measurement for you.

I have had my boat hauled numerous times and have never needed an escort. You can try calling Svenson Boat Transport located on Long Island (visit web site) for the information, they haul all new Regals for Great Oak Marina from the factory in Florida.

If you're moving it by truck you definitely want the arch removed as well as the bimini top and hardware. We just had ours moved from Norris Lake to Knoxville last Tuesday and it just cleared the interstate bridges on I-75 and I-40. We did require two escorts as well which came in handy, especially on the smaller roads leading to Concord Marina.

The move was successful and we are safely docked on the Tennessee River, preparing to start the Great Loop in Sep. Good luck with your 3880.

Who removed your arch?
Who did your transport?
4080 is a nice boat, suprised you found one for sale already!

Dave,

Sorry for not getting back to you but personal obligations prevented me from getting to the boat this weekend. I hope someone else can help you.

I have removed my arch on two seperate occassions and it takes two people around 30-45 minutes to get it down. It will store in either the cockpit or swim platform during transport. Regal has all the electronic wires with quick disconnects on the port side of arch.

Mark Proffitt from Marine Contractors did the removal and the move from Norris to Knoxville. They were very professional and very careful of every piece they removed. Everything that could blow away was removed, the bimini and isinglass carefully rolled and everything else padded and secured. They did a fantastic job and I would recommend them highly to anyone needing to move a boat.
