Not sure who is running the boat sales there these days but the marina is our old marina. We have had several dealings with them and let's just say that if they wanted to give me a boat I'd run quickly. The owner has a VERY checkered reputation and we moved out because we refuse to give him ANY more money.
It appears they have separated the boat sales from the marina operations for some reason. The marina has been bleeding money and customers since the current owner purchased it. I'd be VERY careful dealing with this group.
You might want to ask the many members here from Stony Point Bay Marina if they know anything about this boat.
So just for the record the guy running sales over there is named Rich and a dock neighbor of mine. He is a hell of a nice guy and I would say trustworthy. In fact the guy next to me just bought a boat from them for a steal, and they were able to get alot of the punch list items taken care of.
I don't know the boat but can take a look the next time I'm down. Do you have a link to it or some more info so I can find it easier?
They sold my last boat for me and I was very happy with them! This said I don't trust anyone selling anything! Do your homework and be careful!
I too know the person that just bought a boat from them and he is very happy with both the deal and the boat I'm looking forward to seeing it.
+1. I don't believe you will have any problems dealing with Rich. He is a very nice guy, Dave is spot on with his response. These boats are brokered and all the salesperson is doing is making the connection. It's is totally up to you to make sure title is good and boat is worth what you offer. Any used boat should have a survey done on it by a professional who has no affiliation with the selling broker. Good luck.
