Vacation Location Idea's?

We are taking the week after Memorial day off and looking for some suggestions. We keep our boat in Deltaville, VA and normally travel north to Maryland.

I was thinking of heading south. We have visited Bay Creek on the eastern shore.

Any suggestions? Mobjack bay?

I appreciate any ideas.

What sort of things are you looking to enjoy? Fishing, anchoring out, secluded anchorages, good marinas, good restaurants, old towns, antique shops, golf, spas for the wife.

We are thinking about renting a trawler in Md. closer to the fall.
We don't want to go when it is too hot.

On the lower bay I would suggest the following:
Hampton - the downtown has been getting better every year
Waterside in Norfolk has the museum that can keep the kids and yourself happy even if raining
Cape Charles is getting better every year
Kiptopeke anchorage inshore of the concrete ships can be a good anchorage and the fishing can be great as the ocean water circulates up the east side of the bay. Also has a great beach.
Onancock is a great old town and now has some good restaurants. The scenery on the river getting there is superb. If you go up the river with the tide the trip can be fast.
Chrisfield - the crab capital
Smith Island and Tangier Island
Reedville - good museum and restaurants
Off the lower Potomac:
Anchor at Horseshoe bend on the St. Marys River. You can dinghy ashore and eat at the college cafeteria. About $7 for all you can eat last time I was there. You have the archeological site for St Marys and the Dove replica of a 15th century boat. The croaker fishing can be really good in the evening. St. Mary's College have a concert series every Friday night. You dinghy ashore and sit under the stars and listen to the music. Details can be found on the college web site
Visit St Mary's Yachting Center in Carthagena Creek - on site pool, tiki bar and restaurant. This is a real hurricane hole if you get some bad weather.
Visit Point Lookout Marina great restaurant on site and another within a half mile walk. Pool etc all there
Port Kinsale on the Yeocomico nice town
Coles Point Plantation, nice pool, restaurant on site. Used to have a steak supper on Wednesday night where you paid full price for your first two drinks and the steak dinner was free. Rib eye steak, baked potato and salad - all you could eat.

At some of the marinas their restaurant might be closed on Mondays or Tuesday so check before you decide where to go.
