I replaced my ball and seals. When I put everything back together, I found that the pedal binds in the up position when you add water to the bowl. it didn't do that before.
I called Sea Land and they suggest that I bend the part of the lever that contacts the white mushroom part at the top of the valve up to take some of the tension off. I did that but it didn't make a difference.
I also tried putting a spaced under the spring to put more tension on the spring hoping that more force would cause the valve to snap closed stronger. That didn;t really work either.
I tried puting teflon lube on the top of the mushroom shaped thing on the top of the valve. That didn't help either.
The curved part of the lever that contacts the white mushroom is binding.
I may try putting more spaces under the spring to add a little more tension. I can;t imagine that the problem is with the lever. It must be the valve. I'd prefer not to waste $40 on a whole new valve. The valve itself is fine.
Everything works when you push the pedal down to flush, the valve opens and water comes in. That doesn't stick because the spring cartridge, which I changed with the ball kit, returns the pedal to the neutral position. But that spring is just for flushing, not for when you lift the pedal.
