Can a tampon be flushed straight through a vacuflush system.

I was told by a guest that she flushed one down by mistake, but so far have not noticed any difference in operation. Pump cycles and shuts down and toilet flushes well.

NO!!!!

If it isn't TP or you didn't eat it, then it should NEVER be put down a vacuflush system. Maybe you got lucky but why tempt fate!

You got lucky! Don't tempt fate, or you'll be pulling apart the duckbills on the vacuum pump and cleaning them out.

Not the most pleasant job.

I was wondering wehter or not to check the duckbills in case...
So far I've only flushed water and it seems fine. I do not want to find out there is a clog after something more solid is flushed!

If water is going through okay, I suppose it did pass through.

My system shares a pump with two heads, each having their own vacuum tank.

turn off the pump and open the flush valve, If you got lucky it will be in the bottom.

I dealt with 2 tampons. Both times they were caught in the 2nd duckbill.

You can tell it's there because the vac pump keeps running and can't build a vacume. My first clue was as I was cruising, I noticed my left volt meter was cycling non stop. (House batts on the left) I thought I had an alternator issue.

After I stopped, it kept cycling, and then I heard the pump and duckbills quacking.

I have signs in the head, and also discuss this with the ladies, but it still happens. Sometimes they drop it in not thinking. It's a fact of life.

I also tell them if they accidently do it, please tell me.

Typically it gets stuck a few days later when you have other guests, and the person who did it is long gone.
