Last night my vacuum flush head pump has started pumping about every couple of hours, (just as if you flushed). Where should I start troubleshooting?

Thanks for any advice.

The first place to start is at the bowl. Is the water level going down? If so, the likely culprit is the seal at the flush ball inside the bowl. Both seals (on ball and bowl) require periodic cleaning. The most effective way to do this is by hand, being certain to clean the entire surface. Once cleaned, it may take a few flushes for the seal to lubricate and seat properly.

If the water level is not going down, then the problem lies elsewhere, likely to be with the duckbill valves located at the vacuflush pump unit itself. They will need to be either cleaned or replaced (a good idea to store a few extra onboard). If the problem still exists, tighten all connections at toilet, vacuum generator or vacuum holding tank (including hose clamps and threaded spin nuts). There is also a vacuum switch located in the VF unit itself, be certain to check for leaks as well.

I agree. This is exactly right.

We went through this last fall with ours and solved it in the order listed above.
