Under Unlimted Coverage, does VA cover untangling lines caught in a prop?
and how much of the cost.

I believe they will cover $75-$100 and the remainder you will have to come up with out of pocket. The charges depend upon how badly the line is fouled. I had them come out one February morning when I had my wife at the helm while I was trying to power out a badly stuck stern anchor. She didn't hear me yell to take them out of gear and before you knew it .....

They do cover it if...
It prevents a more expensive tow to your slip.

We can do it safely. This is our call on scene. More fouled props are covered upriver (Delta) than down in the Bay as weather, current, and traffic conditions can make the situation too risky.

If it is just line and not chain or cable.

They do not cover it if you are in your slip at the time.

We charge VA-BUS $150 plus run time for covered situations.

Just received a flyer in yesterday's mail that for unlimited towing you can save 20%. The offer is good until August 31, 2007. Heck of a deal. I wouldn't go boating without it. Phil has rescued us in the past. Gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that help will be on the way.
