Hi Vic,
I'm giving strong consideration just to replace my U-line 95 ice maker with the Raritan model. in boatfix catalog, they have this model:
ICERETTE: NON CFC SS. CABNET, NEUTRAL WHT DR. WITH I98 FLANGE

It appears that the dimensions are nearly the same as the U-line but I don't understand the 198 flange spec. does this built in versions come with and without flange? Is this the model i would want to fit in the cut out for the U-line, which does have a flange.
tks

Just ignore the I98 designation. That designation refers to a specific flange, which has been discontinued. However, all units intended to be built-in will have a flange. Any Raritan icerette that has a "B" in the model number, will have a flange. Other models are also available, that are intended to be free-standing. These will have an "F" in the model number - and will not have a flange.

The Raritan part number for a suitable replacement for a U-Line model 95 would be Raritan's # 85B515-1 (or 85B505-1)

Tom, when Raritan began buiding their own units it was decided to make the cabinet dimensions the same as the U-Line-built units, for obvious reasons. That way, when the customer was ordering a replacement unit, it would fit right into the same opening as the original unit without problem. Raritan models 83 (discont.) and 85 (current) maintain the same external dimensions as U-Line models 25, 35, 45 and 95.

U-Line also makes a model 98 (formerly model 48). These models are a little larger in external dimensions, and Raritan has no equivalent replacement for them. They never sold as well as the 45/95 units, and it was deemed that the tooling costs for the larger units wouldn't be justified by the reduced sales, so they were never offered.

U-Line did make a shorter model that was the same size as Raritan's 82 and 84 series units, but they seem to have discontinued it.

Vic,
New icemaker's been in a couple weeks now and it ROCKS! Was very apparent in the installation that the quality and workmanship of the Raritan vs. U-line was superior and worth the price point.
Also thanks for the great support. received the new grill and it looks great.

PS. from another thread on the Elegance Toilet...anxious to see Billy's comparison. I also believe that your test plan in the Plant putting it in the Men's room was a mistake. 1/3 women using it without a mishap is worth a 1000 men!!! Ask Billy.
cc.

Tom, glad you're happy with thye new grille - I still don't know exactly what happened.

As far as testing the toilets in our men's room, we don't have all that many women working here - and believe me, the men don't treat the toilets with kid gloves by any means, especially when they know the engineers are looking for problems to turn up...! But the Elegance has been just about bullet-proof.
