Anyone know if the resort and marina on Walker's Cay will re-open anytime soon?

Thanks......Roy

Not in this current weather pattern!

I keep waiting to hear good news about this place. Everything I have ever heard says the current owners want way to much for a place that needs to be developed. The current price indicates about the only one who will buy this place is someone who wants their own island. It will never make money if you shell out 19 million, redevelop the hotel and marina, and hire staff to run it let alone maintain it.
It's typical greedy mentality where someone listens to an ahole real estate broker. You have paradise here that you should be paid for! The list of ridiculously priced commercial property in the Bahamas is staggering. Even worse, is the list of failed developments.

Only a fool, or a very wealthy person who wants a dumpy little airport would buy this place.

Old Bahama Bay can't keep a restaurant open, let alone all of its rooms full, the Grand Bahama Yacht Club has finally shut down, Orchid Bay on Guana Cay is a legal mess that makes it look like poison, Spanish Cay can't keep a restaurant open, etc. etc..
There are places that are doing well, but they have advantages these places do not like access to the mainland (Abaco) or a population that feeds the business as well as encouraging visits.

Maybe if diesel came down to a buck a gallon again places like Walkers would have a chance.

But Great Sale has so much more infrastructure in place! :-)

Bill I agree but geeze, 19 million? You could leave it in a BANK at .25 precent and have a better ROI.

Yeah, I don't see anybody paying that. But hopefully the family will come to grips with reality and it will get sold and redeveloped sometime soon.

I wonder what kind of offers they have turned down? If any.

Big Grand cay is offered at about 2 million. If it's a family dispute, I'm thinking one of them doesn't want to sell and is controlling the price.
