Vic, I want to replace my old manuel PHII with a new electric, fresh water flush head. From the ones I have looked at and considered, I really like the Raritan Elegance. I've gone through all the different models and the part numbers are a bit confusing for my old befuddled brain.

I have a 1987 Carver Voyager 28 with the original manuel head. I want to change from raw water to fresh water flush. What would be the item/part number for the proper head for my boat? My holding tank and everything is in very good working order so I should not have to replace any of that. I will probably replace all of the hoses since they are so old by the macerator and tank are in very good shape. Same for my fresh water pump.

So, which one of those beauties should I buy?

If you look in this previous thread about the Elegance, about 3/4 of the way down, Vic gives a veritable dissertation on the subject of the order numbers and options. It answered all my questions before I could ask them.

I just ordered one of these from BF myself, and per UPS it looks like it will be here tomorrow. Can't wait to pitch out the noisy old monster.

This page may also be helpful, a BF search that displays all of them. I think the option to model number combos are made clear here too.

OK, which one did you buy? Assuming the "A" in the part numbers mean Almond, I see three different numbers for White, freshwater units ranging in price from $391 to $581. But there is no description as to the differences. The only one with a detailed description is the one for $581. I understand as the price goes down you're giving up something. But, giving up what? :)

When you receive your unit and get it installed I'd be really interested in some feed back. Thanks.

I bought 220HF012, which is a white one, pressurized fresh water flush, and has the intelligent programmable control with various flushing modes. And 12v of course. There appear to be two other control options, the cheapest is a single push button and it just flushes and adds water while you hold it in, like any regular electric head does. The middle one I think adds separate controls to either add water or just empty the bowl. I was on the fence between the middle one and the top one but the price difference wasn't enough not to go for the top one.

I think BillyIII was bleeding edge on this and he has feedback in that other thread, and I believe he is happy with it. But I will post back after I get mine installed.

If ordering the Marine Elegance, get the top of the line version with the 4 button programmable Smart Switch; the added flexibility is well worth the increased price, as Billy III can attest.

The other two switch options were aimed at boat builders, who might want to put them on as OEM equipment. These days the builders have to watch every nickel, and the less complicated switches (read: cheaper) are more appealing to them, although not as appealing to the end user.

OK, got it. I was sold already but this just seals the deal. I have to go out of town for a week to my daughters wedding but I will call and order this as soon as I return. Thanks.

wait a minute, your daughter is getting married and you still have money left for a new head and you're putting in a fuel flow meter? My daughter is getting married in June and I'm lucky to have gas money left!

Wow, you're daughter's lucky! My wife and I paid for 95% (or better) of our wedding ourselves.

That's WHY I need a new head in the boat. We may have to sell the house and live on it. :)

Congrats Greg,
Think of it as the final payment on loan. Smile that day, not just for your daughters happiness, but the payments are done. :)

Best head I have had in the boat, ok guys no comments please! Really the fully programmable is worth it. I got the Almond with the full blown control panel (programmable) and the fresh water model. I am extremely happy with it over my 2 year old Vacu-Flush. At the same time I added the Hold-N-Treat refit system I already had a new 36 gallon poly waste tank installed 2 years ago. Then I added a Pura-San the wiring of the H-N-T and Pura-San took some minor figuring out but all works extremely well. Ask any questions you need to I will do the best I can to help.
