Hello:

My new to me boat is having usual issues forcing me to get acquainted with the features.
The problem is the rising water level in the toilet bowl. The water rises even when the head is not being used.
It has the "Electric conversion" pump by PAR Model 37010-0002. It has been working fine for one month so the plumbing is correct (I think), I pulled apart the motor and everything looked fine, the macerator knobs were not clogged, the o ring was in place etc...
Any ideas ?? Is there a one way flapper valve somewhere that prevents water from back filling into the boat ?? The head is above the waterline so I am not understanding, lol

Can we assume your waste is going into a holding tank and not overboard?
2 things...your holding tank is probably full and needs to be pumped out and there is a one way valve called a joker (or duckbill) valve. It probably needs to be replaced.
If you are going to replace it, your best bet is to get a re-build kit for your head and do the full re-build which will include the joker valve.

yes, head pumps into a holding tank. Aft head works fine. Where would this Joker valve be located ?
The boat has the ability to be pumped directly overboard, but the Y valve is locked directing the waste towards the holding tank. Is that the Joker valve, I guess that could be clogged........

No, the joker valve will be at or very near the bottom of the head. It has nothing to do with the Y valve. Get the brand and model name/number of your head and buy the re-built kit that is made for it. Replacing the parts is not rocket science. Have someone flushing the head with fresh water while pumping out.

Labeled flapper valve, ( aka: joker valve )

Do what cwms sez; get the full "repair kit" and install everything in the kit. This is a "regular maintnenace item". frequency depends on many things, however, keeping a spare full repair kit is usually a good idea.

Welcome to the wonderful world of marine sanitation! :)

-edit-

So far everyone has assumed that the liquid is entering the bowl for the holding tank side. BUT it is possible that you have clean water entering from the rinse side. Let us know if the liquid entering the bowl is "new and fresh" or "old and more or less recycled".

Joker valve bad, needs to be replaced. A Shirb2@gr5t#y job but someone's got to do it. Ha.

Temp fix that sometimes works, try putting some olive oil in the bowl and flush. Worked for me for a few months.
