Having an issue with my Alpha 1 Gen 2. How snug should the water pump tube attach to the stainless metal impeller housing? Yesterday, I replaced the impeller, gaskets and housing with all new. Started motor but I wasn't getting water. When I dropped the lower unit, I found the 2 piece plastic water tube assembly had fallen off and wasn't attached to the copper tube in the upper housing. OK, it fell off when I attached the lower to the upper. I reattached everything , started the motor and water was pumping great. I thought the problem was solved. However, I started the motor today and I'm not getting water again. I suspect that when I drop the lower I am going to find the assembly had fallen off again. That's why I 'm asking how snug should it attach to the impeller housing? Mine isn't snug. However, I didn't replace the two o-rings (I forgot) and that's probably my problem. I hope so. It's an easy fix. The plastic tube assembly is original but I've always replaced both o-rings in the past. This is the 1st time I didn't. (I run the motor with muffs. Been doing that for years and never had any problem.)
