I was down at the marina today... and its bad... With the north wind all the floaters were on the bottom...

I drove into south bellmore and I coudl see boats laying in the mud... Not good

Hope u guys are ok

Rob

Lots of land in my canal in Massapequa!

Its super low.......but Im still floating.....I've seen it worse

Plenty of water at the Anchorage, I was there around 10:30 am.

Walter

I went outside about 5pm and it was extremely low. I had a sandbar at one end of my dock where it's shallow from the buildup of sand from my propwash. That's one of the reasons I don't leave the boat in for the winter.

Its funny ... with all this warm weather i was really thinking of leaving it in next year...

But then i saw the conditons at my marina today.....

Better out and on land. There's a house boat in my marina... Year round live aboard. Boat was on a pretty good list. Cable line and phone lines were real taught... Good thing he was already on the bottom there was no more slack...

Well glad u guys are ok.. I thought john left his in all year ... so we only have to worry about don....

Rob

My boat is hauled out at the Anchorage for the winter. If I left it in it would be on an angle right now with the props stuck in the mud and I'd be worried about it. Not worth dealing with, happens a lot during the winter with the strong northerly winds.

Rob, your marina allows year round liveaboards? That's hard to find around here.

When I bought my house....I had it dredged at my bulkhead because I had a Hydro-Hoist at that time for my old 22' boat.....so now I have PLENTY of room at low low tide.

My boat was a bit hanging today, but still floating. I would rather the lines be a bit tight on low tide than swinging on high tide. I have not seen the tide over the barnacles in a couple of weeks.

Don what is your depth by your house? On low tide I was showing about 2.5-3’

Don,
When you answer Brads question I just want to know if it is pre or post sniff. :)

Walter

Brad.... Its about 3.5' at dead low ...under my boat. I was able to drop my H/H at low tide and still get on and off.

Walter...... I have a few extra FIRE EXTINGUISHERS if you need them ...... :) :) :)

I went by my marina in Merrick yesterday and half the docks were sitting on the bottom. The slip where my boat had been all summer, had about 6"-12" of water. I had never seen it even close to that low all year.

Dan

Dans right ... No way anyting would be floating in merrick

Barbra,
They only have a house boat in year round..... But im sure as long i took responsiblity and had the proper insurance for it.. They might ok it.

But after seeing how with the winter tides there is no water... Its a mute point... Want even a foot of water in the entire marina ...NOT A GOOD THING
..

Rob

Thanks Rob. I was just curious. We've toyed with the idea of living on a houseboat but it doesn't seem to be a reasonable option for us.

Same thing here in NJ....water has been lower than normal all season....I've had a house on the canals here since the early 80s and this is definitely the longest that I've seen it stay this low......
