Hi everyone, just a note that this year's Waterford Canal Festival Centennial Celebration will be Saturday May 19, 2018 from 10-6 at the Waterford Harbor Visitors Center docks.
The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County (CSSC) is running the event this year for the first time, and as such we have some huge upgrades planned. Boats/cars/trucks for sale, a race car, exhibits on farms and veterans, a shuttle through Lock E-2, and a kid's fishing contest courtesy of the Hudson River Fishermen's Association and our good friend John Vargo at BOTH. Kids will ride on Solar Sal and get off on Peebles Island to fish, tackle and bait provided free, and each child gets a $10 gift certificate to the Wiggly Worm Bait Supply in Burnt Hills, which is well worth the trip for anyone who's never been there.
Also, Captain Mike Kiley from Extreme Hydroflight will demonstrate his flying skills, with jets of water shooting from his feet! And telling us what he is up to as he does it...
Food is going to be awesome, as will the exhibits and its always fun to be on Waterford's waterfront with the Great Loopers and other boaters.
If I sound excited its cause I AM!! For more information visit http://www.southernsaratoga.org/events/details/waterford-canal-festival-centennial-celebration-16119 or as always feel free to email me at pete at southernsaratoga.org or contact me on Facebook.
