Wax and Polish Contest

Hi Everyone,

I was thinking... Since a lot of us are prepping our boats for the summer season, that is, cleaning and waxing, and since there are always questions on which wax one should use, maybe we should have a little contest that will benefit all of us in our selection of our products.

Lets take a before picture of our boat, before cleaned and waxed. After we finish we take a picture of the finished product. These pictures can include a clarity test for before and after, where you hold something, (like the bottle of the product you used) against the hull and see how clear the 90 degree reflection is. We can post these pictures in this thread with a list of the products we used, the process we followed and the number of coats that were used.

We can then take an opinion poll on which product did the best job, taking into account the before condition.

What do all of you think? Any takers?

Ok, so here is my contribution.

This is the color band on the hull after a wash but before any Boat Shine touched it. Notice the cloudiness of the band toward the stern.

This is the color band after 2 coats of Boat Shine, 24 hours apart. Notice the cloudiness is gone and the depth of the shine is much better.

This is the hull side after 2 coats of Boat Shine, 24 hours apart.

This is the entire hull after 2 coats of Aurora Boat Shine on the hull sides and 2 coats of Aurora HP Bottom Wax on the bottom.
Not bad for a 19 year old boat I say.

Mike that looks great! How do you do it? I use an orbital buffer.

Nuts! I wish I had seen this before doing our deckboat a few days ago at LOTO. I used Zaino, as always, and the results are incredible. I always finish up the great looking shine with their gloss enhancer which really is incredible.
I do really like the Aurora Boat Scrub and Boat Clean. They even get out ground in scuff marks. Their wax for wet deck areas is perfect for the swim platform. It makes it shiny and non skid at the same time.
