Weather this weekend?!!

Are there seriously going to be thunderstorms?

Ive been planning this boating trip from Martinez to Sausalito for months. Paid money for the Inn Above Tides and now Im probably going to have to scrub the boating portion of the trip...grrrr.

I see its raining THursday and Friday..does anyone have a 7 day forecast? I need to see weather for Saturday.
 
Thunder and lightening are much more likely in the mountain ranges and higher peak around the bay area then down on the bays. Listen on your VHF weather channel if things look iffy. If they put out a lightening warning for boaters, heed their advise. Better safe then sorry!

Sometimes the most fun times are under less then perfect circumstances! And you can always do the boat portion another day......a rain check!

According to the weather report there wont be any rain in Sausalito on Saturday and Sunday so it looks like Im in the clear.

It looks like the predicted winds will be less than 10 kts and coming from the east, so that works really well with your plan. You'll want to travel down to Sausalito on an outgoing tide which begins at around 10:00am. On Sunday, you may run into a bit of wind on the nose if you hang around on Angel Island too long, but it doesn't look like the weather will be much of an issue.

This is all based on the weatherman, who we all know is considered to be doing a good job if he is right 50% of the time. Have a great time and give us a trip report when you get back.

Thanks I will be sure to take pics and maybe some video while underway. So it looks like I wont have big swells in San Pablo. THats good news. I will report back on MOnday or TUesday...wish me luck..oh..I did change the plan ever so slightly. We are going to Angel Island on Saturday for a few hours..and then from there heading to Sausalito Yacht Harbor. WIll check in the Inn Above Tides in the afternoon.

I also looked at the tidal charts and planned to shove off at 1030 which I belive is slack tide but 10am sounds better. SHould put me at Angel Island at 1130 for lunch.
