My daughter just got married this past weekend. A year ago she asked if I could build a boat for the reception. Something that represents our family and our love of boating. She was married on a beach of the waters that cruise regularly. The boat was originally going to be something that the raw bar at cocktail hour would be served from. As I kept working on the boat , I realized it was going to be too nice to use for raw clams and shrimp. We decided to have flowers surrounding it and have cards in the flowers informing our guests what table they were to be seated.
These are the pictures of what I built.
It took me the full year.
The name on the stern is her new last name.

What a beautiful gift!!

Congratulations to the newlyweds.

Edit: Are there plans for a motor when grandkids are old enough? ;)
I have an electric motor from a kids ride on jeep. I need to make a rudder.
I was thinking of using remote controlled servos ? It would be easier than trying to use cables for steering and throttle control?

Nice!!

What/where will it be displayed post wedding?
That we have not figured out yet? We have a beach house with a cathedral ceiling. We are considering hanging from the ceiling?
The wedding venue said I could rent it out to other weddings for $800-$1000 a wedding.
