Took today off and went out with some friends to Croton and then to Torches.

There were hardly any other boats out there, and the water was gorgeous. Saw crabs swimming at Croton and noticed that there are little jellyfish in the salty water.

It is sooooo much nicer to be out on a weekday!

Weekdays are better almost anywhere.

We now have the good fortune of doing all of our boating on weekdays. Where we are located on the ICW, is just a zoo on week-ends. The worst offenders are the people that rent jet skis and then treat the ICW as their own personal playground. They don't have a clue to what they are doing, nor do they care.

We sit at home by the pool on week-ends and then have a stress free week of boating.

If I understand right you're not to far off from having the same luxury.

Hogan- Where did you see the jellyfish?

If you want jelly fish come to block My boat is surrounded as we speak. Little ones but thousands of them.

They were white, but my son picked one up and it stung him.

Years ago I remember Jelly Fish in South Croton, you would see them light up at night when the would get in the prop wash of the dingy.

South jersey was loaded with them this year.

So was North Jersey. They clogged the generator intake in Redbank.

The clogged my engine strainer in Red Bank over the July 4th weekend. I was hoping we were going to get by without them this year.

They got us there years ago as well! Too bad they don't go well with peanut butter.

Gonna take Mike's advice and hit the river tomorrow. Thanks for the head's-up on the jelly fish - the kids love to swim at Croton . . . we're gonna have to keep a sharp eye out.

After last summer, I hate to say it - - but we need a good couple 'a storms (to push that salt line further south.)

We were at Croton yesterday and as usual during the week no crowds. Maybe 15 boats. I didn't see any jellyfish and I was in the water most of the afternoon. The water temperature on my fishfinder was 83.5 degrees. Like a bathtub. I want the salt to be here because that brings the bunker up and blues feeding on them. When the water cool down I think we will have a lot of blues around Croton Point if it stays salty. I hope so.

THe way its headed, it should be some great fishing....
