We had a fun weekend at the Delta. We put in at Vieira's on Friday and cruised down to see if anyone was doing anything at the Outrigger and it was closed with the docks starting to fall in the water. We went back up river and saw that The Point was closed. We continued up river and docked at Isleton. We had a marvelous dinner at Peter's Steakhouse and we had a lot of fun at the bar playing liars dice with Peter, no bets just fun. We spent that night in Isleton on the boat and it was quite warm and comfortable in the cabin. We went to breakfast in Isleton, forgot the name of the cafe, but it was excellent. We headed north and cruised all the way to Sacramento. Had a drink in Old Town. We went further north and had a couple drinks and snacks at what marina's were open but most were closed, hopefully just for winter. Came back down river and had late lunch
at Al the Wop's more politically correct now known as Al's Place. Damn long walk from Walnut Grove to Al's since the Boathouse stopped letting folks tie up there. We had such a good dinner at Peter's om Isleton, we went back for seconds and were not disappointed. The next morning we headed south again to check out Herman and Helens. I have heard they might be open. There didn't seem to be a sole around, but on the cafe the sign said open for the store and gas....don't know as we didn't tie up to find out. Lot of fun, the weather was beautiful and the old swamp never looked better.
