Weekend weather....

You guys are killing me! It was a beautiful day and I was itching to be near the water but was unable to...other than sitting on the train and watching the Hudson/Palisades during my commute....things could be worse I guess.

Something cool though, my daughter wrote me a card/letter saying she was asking, no wait demanding her baby (the boat) be put in the Hudson soon. That's a big step in the right direction!!

Thanks Jon, we try to keep our summer activities on it...

Russ, they ran from about 12 - 22 inches...I guess about 6 were in the 18-22 range..
Made for a good afternoon..Water temp on the incomming tide was 51.9 dgrees, the out going tide dropped to 49.1. Thats when the big ones started. Was non stop for awhile...

Now I hear the weekend may not be a complete washout. Gouing to spend the week end on the boat either way...

Ronner , I hope you guys don't have this newbee in mind ? I don't fit virgin status luckly for me, hope I don"t have to tolerate the new guy thing all season ?

Walshie , glad to hear the apple didn"t fall to far from the tree , sounds like you & your daughter will be in pretty soon ,good luck with that.

Can't we just sacrafice a Virginian?

Be careful down by the TZ, they have new signs posted "Caution Jumpers. To proceed, look up then gun it"

We used Blood worms..Fished off the rock ledge (Tellers point) on the tip of south croton. Water Depth was 13 foot...

Thanks Butch.

Going out tomorrow provided Mike can sway the weather gods to look down nicely on us. Only staying at the dock if it's pouring down buckets.

Gonna give the Gulp bloodworms a try tomorrow. I have some frozen bucker leftover from last year, bringing that too.

Anyone else going out fishing tomorrow?

Wanted to but the weather will out a stop to it. I dont have the full canvas up (just a mooring cover)and I dont feel like getting soaked.

Besides most of my fishing gear is on my friends boat thats heading back up north from Florida

I wish I was going out fishing - we're putting docks in this weekend...

I wish you were too Pete , now that your famous & all...

I am looking forward to hearing about your wild antics again...

GOVERNOR !!,
Being thoust gov. & executive over our local colonys commonwealth naval fleet force. Thou shalth humbly plea to thine chief magistrate of superior rank & appointed status on behalf of us commoners who have recently developed a facination & interest for a device known as " Penny Bridge web-cam " which reflect beautiful images of vessels surrounding thine territorys.

Thuo humbly implores a plea of utmost attention in regard of concern tward, an encroaching invasion of a antagonistic opposing enemy force attempting to blockade and or inhibit by interruption aformentioned visiual stimuli of said " web-cam ", by means of photosynthesis hence using resource of the colonys water & sunlight.

A plan of tacticaly expedient naval strategic operations seem in order !!

By way of suggestion, pertaining to : SNAPPING OFF A FEW INCHES OF THE BRANCH ON PINE TREE . Henceforth would restore order in territory of your governorship for all to enjoy. May such please your majesty !

With appreciation and gratitude of service, your humble servants.

Hung out at the marina, got some sun, had a couple of beers, refinished the counters in the head, installed new sink and faucet. Smoked a cuban cigar.

All in all, a pretty damn good day.

Now I gotta go to a party that will be chock full of bleeding heart liberals...

THanks for the good weather Mike,

The fishing sucked big time but the day on the water was great.

Fog this morning was 100% Block Island Sound quality. Fun for the first trip out of the year.

We are enjoying a nice but windy evening on the boat.

The drinks are flowing, the music is playing.... Nice!

The stripers were biting like crazy at Croton.

Mike We see you survived the lib bash(ing) ok? Yes indeed yesterday was a great day. We got the transom lights installed in the hull, touched up the bottom paint, and waxed the hull up to the crease below the rub rail. Last Wednesday was all bottom prep and thursday after work it was bottom paint.
Today the cover comes off! And we wax a bit more of the hull.

Splash date next Sat..

Only saw one fish come in a boat. Was there most of the day.

Which Croton were you fishing???

Can someone explain why there is even a job called a meteorologist? They dont have a freaking clue. Rain all weekend until OOPs Saturday morning then the forecast suddenly changed to sunny and 75. I had already had plans to work on the house since the weather was supposed to be crappy. Same for today. So now that I rushed to get the boat in the water I cant even use it. What a waste.
