It a real fine line. I have tried to use my track line from uneventful trips but being off a little bit I touch bottom. I know there are plenty other boats coming and going with the same or deeper draft. I guess I'll try to find your old post and try that. I really enjoy Bowline it's nice and calm. I glad I planned on having the props redone over the winter anyway.
Two guys rafted up near me swam over to chat on Saturday and we found a submerged tree in Bowline about 4' off my stern. The tree was about 15 - 20' tall and about 6-8" around. We were able to wiggle it loose and flagged down someone in their dink to tow it away. It was a bit disconcerting as it was only about 4' under the surface and any one of us could have hit it, or worse . . . jumped onto it.

Unseen underwater obstructions are why I don't dive head first off my boat no matter where I am, be it Bowline, Croton, or Lake George. I go in feet first. I only dive in a pool at the deep end. Rather a broken leg than a broken neck.
If anyone is headed downriver, there's another Blues Jam at Yonkers Yacht Club on Sunday from
2pm - 7ish. We've done two this summer and they've been a blast.
