Wellcraft instrument panels

I have a 1999 Wellcraft Martinique that has severly uv damages instrument panels. The original parts are vacuum formed plastic panels that all of the gauges and switches fit into.

Any ideas where to find replacement panels (Wellcraft no longer sells them? Or, any suggestions for making replacement panels myself, such as what raw material to use?

This has been covered many times before. Please search ideas.

Concensus is Plexiglas/Lexan; plate aluminum; or StarBoard. If you have curvature, you'll likely have to find used parts or a fabricator.

Watch ebay. You can check with boat salvage yards. There are several here in the Tampa area.

I had the same question, over the winter. I had to replace 2 panels on my helm, that were in poor shape. I used 3/8" aluminum plate. I got it at a local sheet metal shop. Both pieces cost me about $35. I have a friend that is a machinist, so he cut the angels, and drilled the holes for me. But the sheet metal shop would have done it for me as well, but it would have cost more. I also have a friend that get a lot of stuff powder coated for work, and he threw my panels in on one of the jobs. I took the old panel to the sign shop that did the name for my boat, and had them do the labels for the switches. It turn out great.

alum is fine although you may get into corrosion issues from salt spray or galvanic action from SS screws.

dark smoked lexan is a good choice too, easy to cut. Starboard works too although may not look great, depends on the rest of the helm.

or wood... either teak or thin marine ply with a veneer and high gloss varnish

My 302CR Monterey is having issues with the instrument panel as well. Where can I find/purchase dark smoked lexan?

Those panels for the Wellcraft were made by M&G Electronics in Virginia Beach. Contact them for replacements.
