Whassup with this weather?

I made it in! Left work early Friday but it was too windy. Ended up launching Saturday afternoon. We are a working club, we launch our own boats. For the first time, the crane had to walk my boat (long story). I was nervous as heck! According to the crane specs, it could handle 21,000lbs with the block out 16'. My boat is 17,200 dry + 200 gal of fuel(600), plus gear, probably just over 19k. All went smooth and I gained alot of respect for the 1956 pettitbone crane, her operator and "HANS" the master crane engineer.

Lets get ready to rumble!

Yesterday was perfect weather! Took a spin on Giggity to visit Audrey II at Haverstraw Marina. Then spent some time with our buds at SPBM.

Today is another beautiful day!

I am finally ready to launch. This is the latest I have ever been in....just so much going on!! Asked marina to pick it up Monday. Finished it up today with new zincs & wash & wax. My back is absolutley killing me right now!!!

BillyIII....will be in your neck of the woods in the not too distant future. Will be relocating down the shore. Either Mystic or Osborn in Little Egg Harbor.

Great, let me know when you move to the area. I would like to meet you.

The weather has been good down here except some high winds. Saturday was an almost perfect day too bad I spent most of the time working on cleaning up the boat, finishing unfinished projects and making repairs that I shouldn't have to if the boat was properly winterized. I can only imagine if it had been a cold winter down here. I paid to have the boat winterized and it appears as if it was at best a minimum effort by the marina.

Mike it was nice to see you, yesterday was Trojan visiting day Bob stopped by a few minutes after you left. I really think well will have to have a Trojan raft up this summer maybe we can get a couple others to join us I would love a picture of all of us together that would be great!

Marsij best of luck in your new home! My In laws have a place down there one of these days I will have to make a trip I'm just afraid on the shallow water!

I left the hard at Patsy's Friday afternoon in a middle of a huge windstorm. Decided to move to one of the T docs and hang till the tide change and rode the current down river. Lots of wind, waves, and spray all over a perfectly cleaned boat. Gotta love salt-a-way!

New bottom paint, new zincs, new transom zinc, 5 new underwater lights, finished the buffing and then 3 coats of Rejex, a very long 5 days with plenty of rain in the way.

And to Mike, Jimmey and the rest of the crew, thank-you for the great hospitality!

5 underwater lights that's got to look cool! posts some night pictures when you get a chance I would love to see how they look.

We will move down the shore eventually. For now, with house prices/interest rates so low we are looking around to see if there is something that would work for us. If we find something in a good price range we will play with the numbers & see if we can carry both the Jersey house & the Stony Point house for a time until we are ready to leave.

Then we will buy a fishing boat & ask John C to teach me how to fish for tuna because I don't have a clue but it's something I would love to do :)

I would think there must be deals to be had at the shore. My in law had a place in Margate on the beach for many years, a few years ago they moved in land to Little egg harbor and they seem real happy down there. There spend most of their Summers down there. My father in law joined the Margate fishing pier many years ago and spends a lot of time there. Seems like a nice place to retire!

Yes there are good deals but I have not yet found exactly what would work for us in the location we want. We have close friends there and would like to get near them.

I think I saw your boat in front of the shop yesterday!

Yea, they picked it up yesterday. Up until about three weeks ago we were still deciding whether or not to put it in this year. Decided to launch but....
