What I found in Bowline Pond on Monday

Weather has been good, rain last night, today cloudy and cool. Last night was COLD!!! This ain't July weather

Jackets required every night the past week in Block Mike.

I wonder when summer is going to arrive this year? Global warming has really made things COLD!!!!!

Great picture Butch, thanks for sharing that.

It's going to warm up when we have to put the boats back on the hard deck.

I agree with you rommer

I don't get it either!

Who is responsible for the pond? Is it the plant that uses it for cooling water? State of NY? County of Rockland? Village of Haverstraw?

Oops, maybe I just answered my own question. I just did a Google search on Bowline Pond. This is from minutes of the town board meeting of Garnerville,NY dated 6/9/09:

Hopefully, the Town will be receiving a State grant for improvements at Cheesecote Mountain Park. We hope to purchase new docks for Bowline Pond. The Town is doing this at no cost to the local tax payers.

Docks? Are they inviting folks in? Are they going to mark a safe passage in? Are there docks in there now?

Here's a link to the entire minutes of the meeting.

I'm no attorney, I'm just a lowly Broadway stagehand but this sounds like the town is opening itself up to a problem that they may or may not be aware of.

Curious to hear input.

Enjoy this beautiful Sunday all! I'm stuck in the theatre until 6pm but after that....whoopeee!!!

If I am correct, the town has a 100 year lease on the park property to which they do have a fishing dock only. Its out of the water this year, I quess because of damage.
And they do have signs on it that said "No boats within 100 foot". Quess they took care of there obligation.

So don't hit the wall because only YOU will be responsible!

I can't resist this...........

On the picture of the landslide.

That's Butch looking out the bathroom window.

Caption reads:
"Sorry!!!!! It was them beans!!!!"

No, No, No...it was my Great Grand Father... And he blamed my Great Grand Mother for it. He claimed she ate the beans...
