I heard to broke loose and overturned. The C/G said that they need to remove it along with it's load (gravel I believe) from that cove. I saw it today (Sunday) and it had a tug boat attached to it. That must be costing the owner a small fortune. Needless to say there were no other boats anchored there..
We had an old house barge (can't call it a boat) float down near us and sink. We called the CG, DEC, police, etc. Nobody wants to take ownership of the problem. So, it's been sitting there since the spring and seems to be firm in the mud.
Apparently there were two barges that broke free and both dumped gravel into the Hudson. When cleaning up the mess yesterday, the dredging crew found the body of a BM bridge jumper.
